Programme Note

The Chapel Choir of Oriel College makes a welcome return to the Brandenburg Choral Festival of London with this concert of choral favourites and rarities drawn from less familiar corners of the repertoire. Mozart is a focus, and the programme includes his serene Ave Verum Corpus for choir, as well as two solos for the dazzling French soprano, Roselyne Martel-Bonnal, Laudate Dominum and “Alleluia” from Exsultate Jubilate. The concert ends with Charles Wood’s brilliant setting for double choir of Hail, gladdening Light, which also serves as a college anthem for Oriel Chapel Choir.
