Programme Note

The second of today's concerts in the Brandenburg Choral Festival of London's Autumn Series features festival regulars, The Purcell Singers. Mark Ford conducts this brilliant choir in Rachmaninov's epic Vespers, or All-Night Vigil, with its legendary low-bass voices and melodies based on traditional chant to transport us to the unique soundworld of the Russian Orthodox Church. The Purcell Singers’ performances are always a festival highlight and we are delighted to welcome them for this late-night concert on our opening night in the beautiful surroundings of a candlelit St Martin’s.

This concert will last approximately one hour without an interval.

A reduced price combined ticket is available for this concert and the earlier concert at St Martin's. Please contact the box office for more details.
