Programme Note

The Brandenburg Choral Festival of London welcomes back the Minerva Consort for its second appearance in the 2017 Autumn Series. Tonight they present a programme based around the absent figure of J.S. Bach, featuring works by composers who influenced the great master and some who were influenced by him. Pieces will include Schütz’s Seven Last Words, often seen as a precursor to the famous passions, and Mendelssohn’s contemplative Hear my Prayer, one of his most enduring choral works. They will also perform two works by Eric Whitacre, the festival’s patron. Please join us for this evening of beautiful a cappella choral music.
