Programme Note

This afternoon's concert in the Brandenburg Choral Festival of London features our two resident choirs. In the first half, the handpicked Brandenburg Singers will perform a selection of choral favourites through the ages, from William Byrd's Ave Verum Corpus in the Renaissance to Morten Lauridsen's O magnum mysterium from more recent times. After the interval, the Brandenburg Festival Chorus will join for a performance of Fauré's much-loved and beautiful Requiem, fresh from a come-and-sing workshop with Robert Porter, the fetival's artistic director a few days before. Organ accompaniment will be provided by Rupert Jeffcoat.
