Programme Note

The Brandenburg Choral Festival of London welcomes Mirabilé Vocal Ensemble for its festival debut. Winners of the Female Choir category at the international Esiteddfod in Llangollen in 2016, this talented group enjoys a busy schedule of concerts in the UK and farther afield, singing a wide range of classical repertoire including contemporary works. Anthony Thomas Rose conducts this programme of music on the themes of prayer, reflection and remembrance, including Poulenc's Litanies à la Vierge Noire and Fauré's serene Cantique de Jean Racine. Newer works by Eriks Ešenvalds and Ola Gjeilo will add to this programme of wonderful and uplifting music written for the female voice. Accompaniment is provided on the piano and organ by Darren Hogg, and on the harp by Cecily Beer.
