Programme Note

The Angmering Chorale return to the Brandenburg Choral Festival of London with this contrasting programme of choral works. In the first half they will perform some of the great choruses from Handel's Messiah, including All we like sheep, Worthy is the Lamb and, of course, Hallelujah. In the second half, an opportunity to hear Will Todd's innovative Jazz Missa Brevis, breathing new life into the Latin mass texts with jazz idioms, including a ballad-like Sanctus, and up-beat Latin-groove-inspired Gloria. To finish, echoes of the Proms and Summertime to warm a February evening, with the entertaining Fantasia on British Sea Songs and ever popular Jerusalem.
