Programme Note

The Brandenburg Choral Festival of London welcomes Oxford-based vOx Chamber Choir for the first of its two concerts in the 2018 Autumn Series, a programme of Baroque Classics at St Sepulchre-without-Newgate, also known as the Musicians’ Church. Vivaldi’s joyous Gloria, Handel’s majestic Coronation Anthem Zadok the Priest and two of J.S. Bach’s most popular motets, Komm, Jesu, Komm and Lobet den Herrn are heard alongside less well-known works by Hiller, Pachalbel, Praetorious and Scheidt. David Crown conducts with organ accompaniment provided by Sebastian Thompson.
