Programme Note

Tonight's concert in the Brandenburg Choral Festival of London 2017 Spring Series brings together two choirs from opposite sides of the world. We are delighted to welcome St Peters Chorale all the way from Brisbane which joins us as part of  tour of England, Wales, France, Germany and Austria. This high school choir of international renown is celebrated for its championing and commissioning of Australian choral works. This identifiably Australian programme is imbued with Aboriginal culture, local landscape and wildlife and the rich multi-culturalism of the country, and includes many works commissioned by the choir. We also welcome back tapestry Female Voice Choir to perform a real mixture of works for upper voices by living composers including Christopher Fox and Stephen Sondheim alongside emerging voices such as Kerry Andrew and John Barber. In true Brandenburg style the choirs will also come together to perform during the evening, and we hope that you will join us for this unique evening of international choral classics.
