Programme Note

The second of this evening's two concerts in the Brandenburg Choral Festival of London's 2017 Spring Series welcomes back Skolia Choir and Elizabeth de Lacey to perform Rachmaninov's epic Vespers, or All Night Vigil. This remarkable work of almost symphonic proportions transports listeners to a different world, that of the Russian Orthodox Church with its legendary low bass voices and melodies based on traditional chant, and this performance is sure to be all the more atmospheric when sung by beautiful candlelight.

This concert will last approximately one hour without an interval.

A reduced price combined ticket is availble for this concert and the earlier concert at St Martin's. Please contact the box office for more details.
