The Austrian Johanna Müller-Hermann (1878-1941) was a pupil of Zemlinsky and herself much admired in her lifetime: her settings of her own poems (the first two of Op. 2) and those of the remarkable Ricarda Huch (the remaining items) date from 1907 and 1929, respectively.
