Programme Note

The Brandenburg Choral Festival of London 2016 welcomes two stunning choirs from the University of Cambridge to perform Mozart’s much-loved Requiem. Conducted by Edward Reeve and accompanied by the Brandenburg Sinfonia in the beautifully candlelit surroundings of St Martin-in-the-Fields, this performance by the chapel choirs of Queens’ and Emmanuel Colleges is sure be a memorable one. In the first half the Brandenburg Sinfonia take centre stage in two instrumental gems, also by Mozart: the dramatic Adagio and Fugue in C minor for strings, followed by the beautiful wind Divertimento from the Marriage of Figaro.
