Since his success, at the remarkably young age of 11, in the 2004 BBC Young Musician competition, Benjamin Grosvenor has matured into a pianist of exceptional artistry and virtuosity. He performed at the First Night of the Proms at the age of 19, and at the Last Night four years later. His four recordings to date for Decca have been widely acclaimed, his latest praised in BBC Music Magazine for ‘showing off his fluid virtuosity, musical sensitivity and fearless approach’. To witness one of his recitals is to be in the midst of an extraordinarily powerful musical presence.
