Programme Note

The Brandenburg Choral Festival of London is thrilled to welcome back Skolia and its conductor Elizabeth de Lacey to perform Rachmaninov’s epic Vespers. Performed in the beautiful candlelit surroundings of St Martin-in-the-Fields listeners will be transported in to the unique soundworld of the Russian Orthodox Church, with its legendary low bass singers and melodies based on traditional chants. After Skolia’s thrilling performance of Spem in Alium in the Spring Series, which received a standing ovation, we are sure that this will be an equally mesmerising and memorable experience.

A combined ticket offer is available for this concert and the earlier performance at St Martin’s. Please contact the box office for details.
