Programme Note

Our concert series this year will feature performances from our popular trio - virtuoso balalaika player Sergei Kosov (Gnesin Academy of Music, Russia), award winning violinist Yulia Northridge (Petrozavodsk Music Academy, Russia)  and concert pianist Ekaterina Shetliffe (Dargomizsky College of Music, Tula, Russia)  presenting a new programme by Sergei Rachmaninov, Modest Mussorgsky, Dmitry Shostakovich, Peter Tchaikovsky, as well as arrangements of popular Russian folk songs. We will be joined by a special guest performer mezzo-soprano Iryna Ilnytska (Milan Academy of Music) at one of our events in Totnes on February 1st. We will organise a special raffle with the opportunity to win a Russian doll. There will also be a presentation of Russian Folk artefacts.
