Programme Note

At this year’s Christmas concert, Lewisham Choral Society will present a tantilizing taste of Bach's B Minor Mass, ahead of our performance at the Royal Festival Hall next March. Bach himself adapted the Gloria from the Mass for performance on Christmas Day giving it a decidedly seasonal ring.

On either side of this joyous music, the choir will  perform Yuletide music from around the world: Germany, Austria, Wales, Ireland, Ukraine, Finland, France and then home to England just in time for mince pies and wine! And of course we shall be inviting the audience to join us in raising the roof for a selection of favourite carols.

Happy Christmas to one and all!
