LMP by the Sea with Lauren Zhang & Daisy Noton

London Mozart Players' launch concert kicks off their new orchestral residency at the Opus Theatre, Hastings

Part of the London Mozart Players 2019/20

Add to my Calendar 30-11-2019 19:00 30-11-2019 21:00 36 LMP by the Sea with Lauren Zhang & Daisy Noton The London Mozart Players, the UK’s longest established chamber orchestra, is packing its buckets, spades, violins and trumpets in preparation for an exciting trip to the south coast! The LMP is delighted to be the new Artist in Residence at Hastings’ beautiful Opus Theatre and will deliver an inspiring programme of classical music concerts and outreach work to this seaside community throughout the 2019/20 season.   Packed with rousing classical favourites from Greig, Mozart and Haydn, the first concert is also a showcase of young talent as dazzling pianist and BBC Young Musician winner (2018) Lauren Zhang, and gifted local flautist Daisy Noton, join the LMP to demonstrate their virtuosic abilities in performing two challenging Mozart works. Brilliance and invention shine in every movement of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 9, demonstrating Mozart’s maturity as a composer, and although there is a rumour that Mozart didn’t like writing for the flute, that is not evident in his glorious first concerto which is as vivacious as it is enchanting. The concert opens with Greig’s popular and supremely crafted Holberg Suite, and closes with Haydn’s moving ‘Sturm und Drang’ style Symphony No. 44 ‘Trauer’.  This exciting partnership presents a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the best in classical music right on your doorstep!
