The programme includes Elgar’s Elegy for Strings, Bridge’s Lament for String Orchestra, and Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings - written in the dark wartime year of 1943 and performed by two superb young musicians, tenor Guy Elliott and horn soloist Chloe Harrison.Works by Vaughan Williams, Holst, and Elgar complete this stirring celebration of music’s enduring ability to illuminate the human experience.
