Opening with Schumann’s radiant Fantasiestücke, the programme journeys through the haunting beauty of Brown’s own Arioso, a work specially written for Sarah Jane Bradley. Lloyd Moore’s Canzona for solo viola receives its world premiere and the recital culminates in Brahms’ Sonata No. 2, a masterpiece of emotional range—from poignant lyricism to sweeping grandeur—bringing the programme to a moving conclusion.
