Programme Note

World-renowned pianist Barry Douglas has forged a major international career since winning the Gold Medal at the 1986 Tchaikovsky Competition. He brings his innate musicality and lyricism to the Leeds Piano Festival, combining miniatures such as Tchaikovsky’s ‘The Seasons’ with his Grande Sonata in G major.
