Musicke in the Ayre return to the Charterhouse with a programme of lute songs marking the three major milestones in life: birth, marriage and death. With sweet (and sometimes bitter-sweet) lullabies, celebratory songs from wedding masques in the Stuart court, and elegaic outpourings on the loss of loved lords, this will promises to be a intimate hour of gorgeous music with soprano Emily Murphy and lutenist Din Ghani, in the marvellous Jacobean Chapel. A pre-concert tour of the premises, conducted by a Brother, will take place between 2 to 3pm. This costs £16.25, and is limited to 20 people.
