Ortiz wrote it for ICS favourite Alisa Weilerstein – and she’ll be performing it herself in its Manchester premiere. We begin in Ortiz’s native country with Arturo Márquez’s exhilarating Danzón No.2. Alisa Weilerstein joins Marin Alsop and the Philharmonia for an outstanding new work by one of the world’s leading composers.
