Christmas Concert
Part of the Lydian Orchestra 39th Year Season
Add to my Calendar 22-12-2015 19:30 22-12-2015 21:30 36 Lydian Orchestra The Lydian Orchestra was founded in 1976 to give talented young (ages 14-25) musicians in West Kent the opportunity to play together. It is the players themselves who organise the orchestra, resulting in a close-knit community which achieves full concert level performances. Several past players have gone on to achieve professional careers and some current members are already high profile soloists. Approaching our 40th anniversary, we continue to give 3 highly acclaimed concerts a year - Christmas, Easter, Summer - in Sevenoaks and Tonbridge. Our soloist for this concert, percussionist Lizzie Brightwell, is currently in her second year at the Royal Northern College of Music & University of Manchester. In her first year, Lizzie won two prizes, the Wray prize at the RNCM, and the Proctor Gregg prize at the University of Manchester, both for performance. Our conductor for this concert Peter Young has known the Lydian from its foundation, and we are delighted to welcome him again. St Stephen's Church, Tonbridge DD/MM/YYYYDetails
