Programme Note

Tonbridge Philharmonic Society orchestra will perform,  in February, a concert that will take the listener into the world of nineteenth century romanticism. 

Performing two first Symphonies:  Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No 1 is his earliest notable work, first performed in 1868. Brahms’ Symphony No 1 had its first performance in 1876. Both composed at the height of classical music romantic movement. 

Under the professional baton of their dynamic music director, Matthew Willis, the concert at St Stephen’s Church, Tonbridge promises to be a sublime symphonic performance. Reviews of recent orchestral performances included the comment “Some seriously exquisite playing from Tonbridge Philharmonic…What an inspiration!
