He has recently won both the Kathleen Ferrier Award and the Wigmore International Song Competition. He is demand all over the world for the finesse and detail of his ability to tell stories in song, and broadcasts regularly. In this programme he will sing Vaughan Williams’ characterful and moving ‘Songs of Travel’, and a selection of Britten’s Folksong arrangements. The Folksong theme continues with songs from Mahler’s ‘Knaben Wunderhorn’ collection; there are classic songs by Schubert and a colourful finale with Ravel’s touching and funny ‘Don Quixote’ songs.
