Programme Note

Join us for an evening of stunning fifteenth-century polyphony chosen to meditate on the Flemish painter Rogier van der Weyden's The Last Judgement (c. 1445). Hear music from the late Middle Ages by Ockeghem, Brumel, Martini, and Regis, in addition to several anonymous compositions last heard over 500 years ago. Learn about Van der Weyden’s painting and its moving context, and hear his powerful depiction of the apocalypse come to life through the drama of medieval polyphony.
