Jonathan Dove's song cycle, The Passing of the Year, provides an exciting opening before the delicacy of Britten's Hymn to St Cecilia. A new setting of the Missa Brevis by Russell Hepplewhite then leads into Finzi's masterpiece, Lo, the full, final sacrifice which concludes with one of the most exquisite Amens in the choral repertoire.
