Programme Note

For our first concert of 2022, Oxford Pro Musica Singers present a choral journey from dusk to dawn.

In the perfect setting and acoustics of St Barnabas Church, Jericho, Oxford, join Oxford Pro Musica Singers for a concert of sumptuous choral music on themes from dusk to dawn. This eclectic programme focuses on the music of living composers, with pieces by Eric Whitacre (Lux Aurumque, Water Night, Sleep), and Stars by Eriks Ešenvalds in which members of the choir will simultaneously sing and play a tuned wine glass. The concert also includes music by Thomas Tallis, Edward Elgar and James MacMillan, together with Kerry Andrew’s luminescent setting of O lux beata Trinitas and Annabel Rooney’s enchanting ‘Round me falls the night’.

Oxford Pro Musica Singers concerts often sell out. Book early to avoid disappointment, and to enjoy what is guaranteed to be a rich feast of music.
