Programme Note

The English Symphony Orchestra, Worcester Live’s new Orchestra in Residence, celebrate their arrival in Huntingdon Hall with a concert overflowing with the spirit of dance, from Dvorak’s rustic Slavonic Dances and Brahms’s soulful Hungarian Dances to Johann Strauss Jr.’s beloved polkas and waltzes. Dynamic diva April Fredrick joins the ESO for a sampling of some of the most beautiful and virtuosic soprano arias ever written. As the International Orchestra of Elgar Country, the ESO has gone from strength to strength under the baton of Kenneth Woods, with featured broadcasts on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM.
