Their unique blend of instruments and great musical versatility sets them apart from other quartets. The programme is an eclectic mix of pieces new and old, neglected and well-known, ranging from the evocative ‘South Uist Variations’ to the beautiful song of hope ‘Mae-e’, in memory of victims of the 2011 Japanese earthquake. There’s also the finale of Mendelssohn’s Italian Symphony as you’ve never heard it before! Music in Peebles is grateful to the Tunnell Trust for Young Musicians for supporting this concert.
