Commotio

Programme Note

Commotio is delighted to return to the stunning acoustics of Douai Abbey for their biennial New Year's Eve concert. Performing the very best contemporary choral music, and reviving neglected choral gems, Commotio will perform their favourite seasonal repertoire. From Britten's 'Christ's Nativity' (a rarely performed suite pre-dating the better known 'A Boy is Born') to Mantyjarvi's ' Christmas Eve 1913' and McDowall's 'Cradle Song' (both written in 2017) this is a concert packed with superb music to see out 2019.
