Their programme features some of the most beloved repertoire from the piano trio canon, including Haydn’s ‘Gypsy’ and Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio in D minor, alongside thrilling contemporary works by the trio’s native composers. With compositions by Lotta Wennäkoski, Sam Perkin and Ellen Lindquist, the young trio celebrates its international heritage in Finland, Ireland, and the US, championing cultural diplomacy through the universal language of chamber music. “Their youth does not remotely detract from their excellence – these are accomplished musicians by any standard, not only in technique but in rapport and nuance. In places, there was true beauty but never as an end in itself: everything served a higher conception of the music.
