This conversation concert explores the music of some of the many women composers who were actively engaged in European musical life, but have been all but forgotten. The music will be performed alongside discussions of the composers’ lives and their social and historical contexts. The programme features works recovered from the archives including Josepha Aurnhammer 6 Variations sur un Thême Hongrois, works by Maria Theresia von Paradis, Helene Liebmann and others. Christ Church: Five Centuries of Music celebrates the music and musicians who have played and continue to play a role in the life of the College, Cathedral, City and beyond.
