Programme Note

Join us for a thrilling evening of Romantic masterpieces. We begin with George Butterworth's poignant and beautiful  Shropshire Lad  Rhapsody, an evocative tribute to a lost English countryside. Rising violin star, Lucilla Mariotti, appears again with the KPO for Max Bruch’s magnificent Scottish Fantasy, a sweeping, passionate journey through Scottish folk melodies, bagpipe drones, and warrior cries. The evening culminates with one of the most beloved and dramatic works in the repertoire: Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, a gripping musical journey from the somber shadow of fate to a glorious, defiant triumph.
