Programme Note

An opportunity to hear Shostakovich's tenth symphony, widely considered to be his finest.   His close friend Weinberg, another Soviet composer wrote 'Rhapsody on Moldavian Themes' based on folk music.   French composer Henri Tomasi is popular in France but rarely heard in Britain.  His trombone concerto is played by BBC Young Musician 2016 finalist Sam Dye.
