Add to my Calendar 15-10-2023 15:00 15-10-2023 17:00 36 Mahler Symphony No 3 Our 50th birthday season opens with Mahler’s epic hymn to nature, life and all of God’s creation. Not often performed because of the huge forces required, it is sure to get our season off to a spectacular start. We have a huge symphony orchestra with extra forces, including eight horns, extra off-stage brass, 4 of each section in the wind, 2 harps, lots of percussion and strings, as well as alto soloist, women’s choir and a boys choir. Nottingham Philharmonic Orchestra will be joined by Sarah Winn (RNCM), ladies choir Mirabile Vocal Ensemble and boys from Nottingham High School for this marvellous symphony. The symphony has 6 movements and was described by Mahler as "A summer's midday dream".
